"Little Punk Staffers" Fuming at GOP

First, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said Capitol Hill staffers have no “contact with reality” and spend “their entire life being arrogant to visitors from back home.”

Then, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) dismissed Democratic staffers writing the financial regulatory reform bill as “little punk staffers.”

Then, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) accused House Democrats of employing “staff thugs” to watch over lawmakers during key House votes.

And then, the National Republican Congressional Committee produced T-shirts mocking Democratic aides who will lose their jobs in November if their bosses lose theirs.

Hill staffers often feel overworked and underappreciated. Now, they’re feeling abused — and they say that a handful of outspoken Republicans are to blame.

12. I think it's mostly those in the executive branch
There wouldn't be much congressional staffers could leak other than internal policy memos and emails which generally don't amount to much political fallout anyway. I'm convinced Boehner himself had something to do with the leak of the fake "doc-fix" memo.

7. THANK YOU!!!
Every time I see that photo my blood pressure rises, because I know that that farce of a mob is part of the problem that brought us the Bush*/Cheney plague.

4. It's all part of the GOP's re-branding strategy
That's right, they need to win back seats and they're coming out with a new brand:

5. Were some Dem. staffers rude to "tea baggers"?
Edited on Mon Apr-12-10 10:55 AM by YOY
Kind of hard not to be rude to them. Even informing them of simple protocol/manners could border on the patronizing tone.

And despite the obvious point that these people did not elect these representatives...I am sure the staffers were at least somewhat polite.

8. The best ally a bully has is the bullied. "...a handful of outspoken Republicans...
is to blame." That about says it all. Those bastards know us better than we know ourselves.

9. If you ever want to have the upper hand with a staffer do this.
Tell them where you live and then ask them if they know where that is. In most cases staffers are not from the Congressman's district and aren't that well familiar with the district. It will completely throw them off guard. I'm not talking about the interns, I'm talking about the higher up people like Chief of Staff and so forth.
