McCain attacks Hayworth on gay, birther stances
By Aaron Blake - 04/12/10 02:53 PM ET

Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) campaign is attacking former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.) again for being a "birther."

A new Web video from McCain's campaign casts Hayworth as a loony right-winger who suggests the president was born in Kenya and thinks gay marriage will lead to marriage between men and horses.

"I've committed to exposing the secret Kenyan brithplace of the president of the United States," the fake Hayworth says. "Second, I've stood up against the grave threat of man-horse marriage."

The video is a parody of a Hayworth ad, pretending to promote the candidate's positions on those issues. McCain has previously attacked the challenger for his comments suggesting Obama should prove his citizenship.

1. Hah!
Those stances are pluses for the crowd that Hayworthless is hoping will elect him. Now J.D. doesn't have to spend his own money highlighting his insanity. McCain is doing it for him.

4. Did John check with Boss Sarah before running that ad?

7. That Would Be Funny If It Wasn't the Watchcry of the DLC
"Vote Democrat! We're the lesser of two evils!"

8. Ok that is funny. Kind of sleazy as an opposition ad but still funny.

9. So...
Help me think this through.

If the far right wing votes for the craziest rightest candidates in the primaries, do you think that would help a democrat in the fall, because most people wouldn't want to vote for someone that far right, or would it just mean that we get a right wing senator crazier than the last one?

10. Hayworth is a very easy target

The ad is the most clever his camp has done in forever. However, once again, he's using content that belongs to another company. And this time that company (Disney) is one of the most litigious when it comes to controlling their brand.

So the ad is a FAIL.
