Legislative squirrelliness
Tonight at Midnight the Maryland legislature ends its 2010 session. Among all the bills passed were these:

Longer mandatories for sexual predation.

Weakening of texting-while-driving laws - you can now text at a stop light. It remains illegal to read text messages while driving (presumably even at a stop light).

Failed to require ignition-linked breathalyzers for cars of convicted drunk drivers. (In my view, breathalyzers that prevent drunk driving in the cars of convicted drunk drivers is the singularly most fair and rational approach to protecting us while allowing these people to live functioning lives.)
