Iran fights Fifa ban on hijab - so women can compete in Youth Olympic

Iran's football federation says it is sending a delegation to Fifa - the international football association - to urge the Geneva-based association to overturn its ban on the hijab, or Islamic headscarf.

The ban effectively prohibits the Iranian women's team from playing in the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore this August.

Fifa says the dress contradicts the game's charter.

2. If they are going to insist
on a head covering, then someone needs to get off their ass and fashion something like the neoprene covering surfers wear in the winter. My son had on that kept his head warm in the chilly waters in the winter. OR the girls could have something light like the caps water polo players wear. This is really a no-brainer.
