The newest Freepathon

I noticed they had about a ten day outage during their current moronathon. Apparently they had secure server problems. Now I know servers can go down...that's nothing new. But 10 days!?!?!? What the hell are those people contributing to? If Rimjob's numbers can be trusted at all, he took in roughly $300,000 in donations last year. $300,000!!!...for a site that hasn't changed its appearance (or gotten better) in years. They can't edit their posts, their reply system is crap (it is extremely difficult to figure out sometimes who is responding to who), and they can't self-delete posts. For 300 large I would expect upgrades, improvements, and minimal downtime...they have gotten none of that.

Kudos to the DU folks who keep us running. They do it cheaper and oh so much better. DU looks like a site that somebody put some thought into...Free Republic looks like a site done by a couple of 7 year olds in a basement somewhere.

I remembered that's where I got it.

I believe he has Multiple Sclerosis. I know he has SOME disease that keeps him confined to a wheelchair. Anyway, Free Republic is his sole source of income.

Still...for $300,000 he could afford to buy an old 9370 or something else that Will Not Go Down and run his shitty site on it.

it seems some of the membership were starting to question what the money was being used for. as any good asshole republican would do he banned them from the site. as far as i remember that was the end of the revolt and the cum grabbers fell back in line with jimmy and his lacky.

you`re right,the guys who run this site are some of the best on the net.

but, what's the point? They never, EVER challenge each other about anything. Almost every post is a cliche bullshit one or two liner. They don't provide facts, links or anything not 'sanctioned' by the far-right, batshit crazy, morons they worship.

If it weren't so despicable it would be sad, very sad.

I have Republican aquaintences which I've shared the link to DU and Freakrepublic, they just can't admit the brain trust on DU is far superior. Fuck'em, I love when the stoopid burns them ;)

Some of their science posts were really good, but then the scientists would talk politics and it all fell apart again. But even this was too much for Robinson...he chased off most of the evolution supporters a year or two ago. They were only 95% nuts...one has to be 100% to make it over there.

The spell-check over there explodes at least once every 15 minutes. Plus, he had to have the really expensive spell-check with the special "I have no idea what the fuck you are trying to spell" feature.

... I'm guessing they are using a Commodore 64 for their server. Maybe that explains the 10 days down.
