I couldn't believe they were trying to say that it was "scientifically proven". Sickening, just blame an innocent segment of the population that you work to make people hate anyway to try to get your own sick asses out of the fire. Hopefully this backfires big dime. No, Vatican, we are past believing right wing lies about whole groups of people, society is moving on.

So say all the cafeteria catholics who gleefully maintain membership in this homophobic collection of child rapists.

gay adults tend to be attracted to gay adults for all the same reasons that straight adults are attracted to adults.

The pathology of being attracted to children has nothing to do with sexual orientation, either way.

Using the Vatican's argument, heterosexuality, not celibacy, is as strongly linked to pedophilia as homosexuality, making the sexual orientation argument irrelevant.

Unsupervised access to children tends to attract people who want access to children, ergo, boy scouts, any "mentor" role, including priests and confidantes, and the ONLY thing that the church is even remotely right about is that celibacy has nothing to do with pedophilia.

Absolute power attracts people who are absolutely corruptible - or already corrupted.

But since the church is attacking gays, it is long past time for us to take off the gloves. I would love to see an international class action suit against the church taken by people who have experienced financial harm as a result of their orientation being aligned with pedophilia by the church.
