Buchanan: " * was a big gubmint, neocon and most of the country didn't want him and the Rs didn't
want him and neither did the independents...blah, blah, blah."

Methinks ole Pat was smoking ditchweed before he made it to Mitchell's program just now on MSNBC. Well, Pat, if the Rs didn't want him, was it a mass delusion that people who didn't like him were threatened by his supporters and that the GOP fronted him twice? Where the hell were you, buddy?

1. That makes it even *worse*.
His defense is that that many Republicans publicly supported someone they knew was a destructive force for the country, out of simple party loyalty? How is that redeeming in any way?

It's completely asinine, however. If the Republicans didn't support him, and the Independents didn't support him, how does Pat think he got into office twice? I mean, I know there were a lot of election shenanigans, but c'mon.

4. Had to kick this
This opens up that whole can of worms.

R's loved their little bushie.

Now that he's let them down and they see the truth, they are hurting.
If they were good men I wouldn't kick them while they're down.

:kick:

8. I think this is partly true
All the conservatives I know soured on Bush after 2004 - they liked that he pissed the Democrats off but basically regarded him as a sellout. He is not loved by ideological conservatives.
