Tea Partiers "more educated" than most? Not buyin it!
I may believe some things in the latest poll of the makeup of the Teahadis, but certainly not the part that says they are better educated than most. The photos of misspelled, inarticulate signage at TP events, are legion. In fact it's become an inglorious mark of their movement. Ever listened to them speak? Their lack of grammar, coherence, command of the English language, facts and awareness of the world around them is glaring. Most of them don't know that "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" is to be found in the Declaration of Independence, not The Constitution. Don't even begin to ask them what socialism really means, they have no clue.

You show me a poll that says the Teahadis are well educated and I'll show you a bunch of Teahadis who lied their asses off to pollsters.

2. Must be that Quinnipiac poll.
'While Tea Partiers are overwhelmingly white (88 per cent, according to the Quinnipiac poll), more than 50 per cent are women, and more than a quarter have completed post-secondary education'

http://www2.macleans.ca/2010/04/13/america-is-angry/

This was part of a thread yesterday. They don't define 'post-secondary' though.

3. Where did you hear that? Considering that Tea partiers
mostly abhor "educated" people, calling them elitists and "limousine liberals" I doubt anyone is going to fall for this.

Besides a "well educated" person would have looked up TEA BAGGING before they gave themselves that name.

If they are referring to home-correspondence courses for TV/VCR repair that are advertised on matchbooks.

11. The ones who came to a recent Rove/Hannity rally in KC didn't know what derivatives are.
I know it's not scientific, but I asked about 10 of them and not a one knew what derivatives are, no did they have any idea what the approximate size of last year's Wall Street crisis was.

12. I would love to see the methodology of these polls
I can just see it now:

Pollster: So, what is your education level?

Teahadi: I gots me a couple a Pee Aych Dees, one in nuke-yuh-luhr physics and the other one in economizin'.

Pollster: OK, that'll do it. Thanks!

14. Note that in America, "educated" really just means "semi-literate", so it's a low bar....
But in any case, yah - it's pretty unbelievable that teabaggers are even average for Americans.

17. People lie about their accomplishments in polls
They also exaggerate how much they earn, how much they give to charity and how often they go to church. That tea-baggers might lie more than other groups should not be a surprise.

19. I think the poll positively proves one thing..
Teabaggers tend to lie on polls when it comes to questions about their income and level of education.

20. If they are, they've forgotten most of what they've learned
Especially their history lessons. And yes, grammar and spelling, too.

But I think they've fallen into a VERY powerful cult, where "learning" and "knowledge" are not only not needed, but actively discouraged.

I think their need to socialize, to bond, has overpowered their desire to understand. So they leave the analysis to Rush, Palin, Beck and O'Reilly.

Then they go out and preach that 'bagger gospel surrounded by all their 'bagger friends. Where facts don't matter and they don't care.

21. remember that republicans win the bachelor's degree vote
a lot of the tea party people are just regular middle class people who went to college raised a family etc. as written in the song "little boxes." Even Palin and Bachmann have degrees as you have to have one to run for office.

Where democrats do well in is the advanced degree vote. A lot of people with masters or PhDs tend to vote democratic. The only people in that category that may vote republican are medical doctors and some lawyers.
