LOOK! A crescent and an mushroom cloud disguised as a Palmetto tree on the state flag..

Nevermind that this is the real story:
South Carolina was named after King Charles I of England. In 1629 he gave it to Robert Heath. During the Revolutionary War, the cap and badge of South Carolinian troops was a white crescent. This was placed on a blue background as the military flag. In 1776 during the British attack on a log fort in Charleston Harbor, the palmetto wood used in the fort's construction proved resilient, and then the tree was added to the flag as a tribute.

This is my favorite SC license plate. It was issued in the '70s:

You couldn't tell what was in the center of the plate. It looked like a red mushroom cloud with a blue bow and not a cannon under a Palmetto tree.

Unchanged since the 1850's, evidently.

15. We were before the textile industry was outsourced to China.
Greenville used to be the textile capitol of the world. The small town I live in had 5000 jobs within walking distance.

17. It is
a conspiracy. She was named Nimrata Randhawa, until she entered politics. Then she became known as:

"Nikki Haley’s entire family is fully Americanized, her mom a successful businesswoman, her brother a 20-year vet of US Armed Forces. She is married to a serving member of the Army National Guard."

Nikki Haley, is really a sleeper cell agent wanting to take over the state of South Carolina. Her religious beliefs are deeply rooted in a foreign religion from India. They take our jobs and all we get is Nimrata Randhawa. Her name is awful close to Nimrod. Then her last name:
The word "Randhawa" is derived from two terms, "Rann" which means war and "dhawa" which means to attack.

The signs are all there. Nimrod has come back to attack. Someone had better warn Glenn Beck about her. The flag is proof. Then again, he may not be interested in a republican.{sarcasm}

She is also very close to Appalachian Trail Sanford. I personally believe she is one of those woman Markie "crossed the line with. Had impure thoughts about" She certainly looks like his type.

18. Be extremely thankful that being allied with Sanford
set her career back a lot(hopefully). She is articulate and attractive. If she had been in a position to be McCain's running mate, we would have been in a lot of trouble. Haley is the antithesis of Palin.

She also has guts. I abhor her politics. However, she was not afraid to take on the leadership about a very important issue. Haley did this knowing that they would put her at the bottom of every committee and whatever if she challenged them. She did and they did.

The issue is one of the few I might be on her side about. She was pushing for recorded votes instead of voice votes on bills, especially funding bills. Haley rightly pointed out that with voice votes, it was impossible to hold people accountable.

19. I nicknamed
her Palin with 1/2 a brain. I read a post about her on the web, that could not say how American she was, she is fully Americanized, even comparing her to Betsy Ross. I kid you not. They even described her Sikh religion as a cross "between best of Islam and Hinduism, minus the drawbacks of either." But whatever, now she is a Christian.

Here is the link. Gag factor warning*
