Anybody see WORSE THAN WAR on ETV last night?

It was about genocide. Daniel Goldhagen wrote a book by that title, and he appeared in the documentary.

He pointed out that genocide isn’t inevitable, that three conditions must exist for it to take place.

--Leader(s) decide genocide is necessary/desirable.

--Ordinary people decide to participate in it.

--Leader(s), maybe of other states, decide to do nothing about it.

I only saw half because it went on past my bedtime, but I’m going to get hold of the book.

2. I watched it. I sometimes had to avert my eyes because I had a hard enough

time processing what I was hearing. The most dreadful point that he made was that genocide is occurring in some part of the world at all times and the orangizations that could apply pressure and bring it to an end (read UN and NATO) sit idle, for the most part, and allow it to happen.
