MN Teabagger founder says "we have a lot of hidden support".
When asked by WCCO local radio host Michele Tafoya if she feels tklan is a minority the founder says they have a lot of hidden support and people who don't want their names out there.

WTH? Is she proud of that? What does she think that means?

13. It's the gospel truth, from what I can tell
In spite of their anemic turnouts, minority polling status, and general incoherence, the popular media apparently believe it to be true, because they cover these yammering nitwits with a thoroughness and respect that the majority anti-war mainstream could only hope to get. No matter how crazy or outré these protestors look or sound, the media give them pass after pass, and sanitizing and clarifying their message with a deference bordering on toadying. When we were marching tens of thousands strong in the streets, we were dismissed as "fringe" or a "focus group," pointed questions were raised about where our funding was coming from, and dammitall if every reel of anti-war protest footage didn't prominently feature the most exhibitionistic guy in a rainbow fright wig or similarly unserious demonstrator.

And what, wondered the popular media, were these people marching about? It was a puzzlement to them, that's for sure. Some 95% of the signs and chants were against the war, but look over there! A sign about legalizing marijuana. Oh, those hippies and their wacky tobacky. And another sign there, something about oil, which has nothing whatsoever to do with the global war on terror. Mixed up hippies!

But one unsubstantiated assertion about hidden support will be parroted endlessly to justify all the fawning media coverage, and used as an excuse to furiously pump up the non-existent numbers to give the impression that something significant is happening, instead of the boring reality of a bunch of spoiled kids who think roads, schools, police and fire fighters are free.

news to continue. There used to be a policy that news programs should not MAKE news but report it. Today it is just the opposite. They encourage these events to MAKE news.
