Incredible lightning at Icelandic volcano

Is it any wonder the ancients believed that volcanoes were the home of bad-ass deities?

Especially the effluvium I generate after an evening of drinking pints & eating pickled eggs at my local brew pub. You know it's evil when someone walks through your 'wake' nearly a minute after the deed & proceeds to gag forcefully.

bicycle shop had slandered us, so one hot summer saturday we sent him down to the shop. As luck would have it, their AC was broken and fans were used to cool down the showroom. He waited until there was a sizable crowd, then stood before one of the fans and cut loose. He cleared the showroom. His secret is pickled eggs, onion rings, beer and brussel sprouts. It makes an eye burning sulfurous cloud. It was as if the devil himself had emerged from his bowels.

Saul Alinsky, the Community Activist of all Community Activists, wrote a book called 'Rules for Radicals.' In it he described a 'protest' against Kodak in Rochester, NY. Blacks weren't being hired except for menial jobs.

The symphony was a big deal there and all the wives of the big executives attended. Saul bought a large block of seats and prior to the event, everyone ate lots and lots of beans. They proceeded to fart throughout the symphony. They had signs and protesters out front as well demanding decent jobs.

It worked. It was legal. That's the trick...don't do anything that you can be arrested for. Farting is legal....so far!

I had no understanding of volcanic ash until I spent time in Montserrat back in 2006. There was ash everywhere - even the buildings near Soufriere were grey. The ash reminded me of cement.
