Last 1/5 of this video the speaker almost off-handedly says that the new nanotech solar cells developed by NDEP are 10,000 time more efficient than typical solar cells.

This seems like huge news! Why is it only here?

10,000x more efficient? If typical solar cells were only 10% efficient (and they are typically better than that), 10,000x more efficient would be 100,000% efficient, which would mean that they for every one watt of solar energy that strikes them, they'd produce 1,000 watts - they'd actually create energy that's not there!

5. I'm always wary of efficiency claims
Most of them are not "absolute" efficiency but some comparative efficiency. This is almost assuredly what we have here. And even at that, what ever is the basis of comparison had to be horrendously inefficient.
