Back in 2004, when I was still just getting use to being on disability, I came down with what turned
out to be a life changing case of pneumonia.

I was in such a state that the medical team working on me decided to induce a coma via drugs. A potent combination of Morphine and Adavan did the trick. I remember them tugging hard on my neck, no pain just pressure, and being taken up to the ICU and that was it for me for about two weeks.

These are two exerts from my blog entry for today...

I get a little political this time around.

I will be up dating about every three or four days.

1. It's a great read!
Politics and all!

Plus the stuff on how it's paid for is fascinating...

8. Thanks for this.
I have been on SSDisability since 2003 with emphysema. I do not have oxygen at this time but I know it is only a matter of time before I am unable to function without it. (As you well know "function" is a relative term.) It seems to me that one might just be better off to buy the machine outright and pay for the maint. instead of leasing. In the long run would you not come out ahead? I am planning to see a doctor soon and talk about O2, and I will bet he/she will agree it is time. I have no supplemental insurance other than Medicare. What's the cheapest way to go in your opinion?

Thanks, Woof
