more than Liz did. Hated Thatcher, too.

And loves MObama and the kids.

British monarchs have only abdicated in 'disgrace' (Edward VIII) or they have been forced out in a coup (and that hasn't happened since 1688). She is religious, and she regards her coronation oath as binding.

But she's 22 years older than Charles, and he's in good health; it's highly likely he'll outlive her, and get to reign himself for a bit (at least, start to; she's popular, and there won't be enough people wanting the end of the monarchy in Britain to make a change before she dies. But people don't care so much about him, and republicanism may start to grow once she's gone).

7. Didn't the late Queen Mum

live to 101? I agree Elizabeth will not abdicate and if she lives as long as her late mother Charles may have a very long wait, although he may also have inherited the longevity DNA.

12. Yes, he does seem to be a decent sort. I know some embassy folks that worked

with him and he's very easy-going and wants none of that royal hulabaloo on a personal level.

When there were racial riots in the East End, Chuck was there the next day talking to the folks that lived there.

16. the mum hated david and wallis. she considered themselves having

dodged a bullet when Edward was going to become king. When he abdicated her husband became king and he was almost pathologically shy and stuttered terribly. She blamed them for his death. It traumatized them and they will not abdicate because of this.

17. My dad was born in 1911.

In his observation of world events, his theory was that David abdicated, and used Wallis as an excuse to quit, because he didn't want to go to war against his German cousins with the clouds of war gathering in 1936.

I believe David (Edward VIII) was asked why he spoke German and he replied, "Ist mein Mutterspracht". It's my mother tongue.

Besides, they changed their names from Hanover to Windsor, and Battenberg to Mountbatten.

That may be a reasonable theory.
