Can there be any agreement around this statement?
The statement is: "Not every criticism of a Democrat is a right wing talking point. Some are fact based."

I'm not looking for examples of one or the other (although I bet people will cite some examples of both right wing talking points and facts). I am simply looking for agreement with the statement, above, at face value. If you disagree with it, please say why.

1. Reasonable people could agree with this.
But around here?

2. Of course that's true.
Whether or not particular criticisms, even based on fact, are well received by some people, or whether other people will believe your facts are indeed facts, is another matter entirely.

22. That sounds tongue in cheek. But on DU, I find I am no longer able to reliable discern ......
.... attempts at humor from serious statements.

And so I ask. Was your original point serious or an attempt at humor? <--- Not snark. Serious question.

6. I agree with that statement. DU is the embodiment of it.
I criticized the Clinton Administration over DADT, DOMA and for not trying to stop the Rwandan genocide. I criticized the Obama Administration for not pursuing Single Payer or at the very least a Public Option in health care reform.

And just look at DU! Flaming arguments day in, day out on just about everything...funny how we progressives expect that and the other side just says "fall in line!"

11. If we can agree on this one:
"Not everyone who supports the president thinks he's the messiah"

Soon as I stop seeing that shit from the people who's entire purpose on DU is to attack people who support the Democratic party, then i'll stop thinking that those same people are rightards.

17. Some agreement
But it's difficult to discern, always, when you're dealing with a post made in haste that doesn't express the writer's thoughts completely or a post that truly is just a right wing talking point. Remember, folks in the Republican party have their own cottage industry thinking up and relentlessly using buzz words and caricatures posing as Deep Thinking. Especially on an issue that's near to one's own heart, the repetition of certain words and ideas (e.g., "state's rights") becomes a red flag that you're dealing with some Pub-bot. Another DUer may have innocently hit upon the very same word or locution used by right wingers; but it's not always easy to tell.

26. I'll worry when the fact based criticisms far outnumber the
right wing talking points. Then it's time to find out what the hell is going on in the Democratic party.
