When people are totally closed to facts and immune to logic there is simply no means of convincing them of anything.

The OP wasn't about the second amendment, it was about the futility of arguing with those who have completely closed minds.

IMO that's why these United States are fast approaching a condition where they are ungovernable under our Constitution at the federal level.

But the percentage is far lower on the left than the right, the right has the Beck-Hannity-Limbaugh propaganda axis pumping out misinformation and disinformation on a daily, if not hourly basis, the left really has nothing comparable.

The right is almost totally divorced from reality these days and one of the prime reasons they are is that the right has a propaganda TV network all its own as well as a radio network, Clear Channel doing the same thing.

All you had to do was watch the Republican presidential primary debates in 2008 and see their candidates deny evolution to realize that the right categorically rejects the very basis of modern medical science.

Listen to Sarah Palin speak and then listen to Barack Obama speak, I'm far from an Obot and yet I can tell the difference between someone who is capable of actual thought and someone who can barely utter phrases they've been fed by handlers.

Here's a short list I stole from a blog of things the right is convinced of, can you come up with anything equally whacky from the left?
