Laid off again.
Not even three months into my new job, which I got after 6 months on unemployment.

This totally bites. We were just getting caught up on the bills, etc. This is the third time I've been laid off in 4 years (and I've lived in Ohio for 5), and this time I've pretty much accepted the fact that we'll always be struggling - despite 2 masters degrees and 18 years work experience.

I'm not sure if I can get extended benefits from my last claim, or have to re-file.

1. I am really sorry to hear this.
I hope someone here will know about the benefit issue...

And I REALLY hope that something a lot more permanent shows up.

3. I feel your pain. I hope something comes through for you soon
Been there myself too many times. I have been homeless a few times too.
I hope you and yours do not have to get to be homeless.
I hope your guardian angels are looking out for you.

5. This is happening to a friend of mine in the legal profession. Yes, you can reapply for benefits.
As a legal secretary/paralegal, she's the poster child for temporary work assignments. If you get laid off, you can file for unemployment. Do so.

6. This Economy Sucks
In another thread the title is "Are You Better Off Than You Were Four Years Ago?" I always thought it was a dumb question but I know few people who are.

8. I am so sorry. I really do feel your pain, because I still don't have a permanent job.
There's something very, very wrong with this economy when people with this much education and experience can't keep a job,

9. That's really bad
I'm coming up on one year of unemployment, and it's been rough, but emotionally an up-and-down experience like yours can be even worse.

11. Wish I had some answers for you
but it seems the higher educated are the ones who they are cutting from the herd first. I guess they either feel threatened by intelligence or are just plain ass cheapskates.

I wish I could be looking for a job actually.
