On Monday, every Repub will vote against cloture on financial reform...
including Brown, Shelby, and any others mentioned as possible votes for the reform. It's Groundhog Day, all over again. Just like the debate on the healthcare bill. Once again, the Democrats will be left holding the bag. They will have to compromise if they want a bill.

And they thought they had it. But like Wily Coyote, they will be standing in midair with their feet spinning on the invisible bicycle. But it's not funny..

How much more incompetent can they get? With an issue like Wall Street reform and they find themselves compromising again with the Republicans. They simply don't have the political skills or the know-how to make the Repubs pay a price for saying "No".

Anybody want to bet this will not be the story on Monday?

So the fucked up Republicans do the deed,
and you blame the Democrats?

And the media assholes twist information to protect Republicans,
and provides them with cover.....

and so here you are to kick sand in the Democrats face,
and to piss on them?

:wow: Wow!

How generous you are. :sarcasm:

I'm glad you ain't my fucking boss,
or I would have done as the French do
to unreasonable SOB bosses long ago.

3. It's always someone else's fault...
They will not get a better issue to run on than Wall Street reform. If they blow it, it is not the Repubs fault or the media's fault, it is the Democrats fault.

Why doesn't Reid or a Democrat pull two or three of these Republicans running for re-election to the side and let them know that if they vote against this bill, we will put in a quarter of a million dollars in their races to remind their voters who they sided with? They could play hardball, if they wanted to. It's really discouraging watching it unfold.

4. Actually, it may benefit the Dems either way.
The Republicans can really be painted as Wall Street friends.

5. Why should I assume that all the Democrats want to rein in Wall Street
any more than I should have assumed that they all wanted real health care reform? While it's possible they were all just "outmaneuvered", it seems just as possible that the Republicans are just cover for many of them to talk the talk without having to walk the walk.

8. I totally agree. After all that bullshit about cooperating we will see a 41 No votes on cloture.

Don't be surprised if Lieberman joins them. They do not want to be part of anything that the bankers would dislike and further do not want the President to make any progress at all on anything.

Also, it looks more and more like the teabaggers are running the show for the republicans.
