Jerry Brown, California's "once and future governor"

Being that it's being held in California, on the campus of UCLA, and focusing on California writers of non-fiction books

This is an interesting panel discussing the US's ongoing struggle to overcome inequality. One of the authors is discussing her book on Caesar Chavaz and the farm workers movement, including the Calif grape boycott of the 1960's, which is meaningful to me because I was a teenager in 1964 when my family moved from Ohio to California, and we had many discussions and jokes about the great grape boycott during the time. Of course, Jerry Brown enters into almost any discussion of Caesar Chavez, since Jerry was so instrumental in helping to bring about the Farm Workers Union.

The phrase "once and future governor" has come up several times during the discussion. I get a big smile out of it, as one who worked for Jerry's 1992 presidential run.

"California's Once and future governor" - what a hoot!
