<snip>
President Barack Obama is still the world's most respected leader, according to a new six-country poll.

Released today by France 24 and Radio France Internationale, the Harris Interactive Poll asked 6,135 adults between the ages of 16 and 64 who live in the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Germany or Spain to name their favorite world leaders.

Seventy-seven percent of those surveyed chose Obama, which is one percentage point higher than when Harris Interactive asked the same question in November.

7. are you serious?
In this era of negotiating down WMD's at and interntaional gathering, trying to get international cooperation in several global issues related to health, climate change, reduction of emmissions, financial boundaries, you wonder if this matters? wow.

9. It does matter
as you have stated, however how can the country be taken seriously when we have states acting as Arizona, banks setting their own rules, half if not more of the politicians acting in their own best interests, and numerous other battles?? The rest of the world may look at him as a leader, but it seems in this country he fails to really lead. Obama, for the most part is a planner and a person that likes to get to a meeting of minds. I think it is time for him to be more forceful and start calling people out on their positions and make them accountable.

10. He has already started. Policy doesn't change overnight but Obama is steadily shifting the emphasis.
