Virginia stamps out license to hate: DMV recalls plate with coded racist message

By Brigid Schulte
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, April 22, 2010

Virginia's Department of Motor Vehicles is so accustomed to drivers trying to sneak lewd, gross, hateful or racist messages onto personalized license plates that it has a rigorous process to root them out.
....

The owner of a Ford truck bearing the license plate 14CV88 will have to find a new message after the DMV on Wednesday canceled its earlier approval of that series of letters and numbers.
....

A few hours later, the DMV agreed that the plate contains a coded message: The number 88 stands for the eighth letter of the alphabet, H, doubled to signify "Heil Hitler," said {Council on American-Islamic Relations's} Ibrahim Hooper. "CV" stands for "Confederate veteran" -- the plate was a special model embossed with a Confederate flag, which Virginia makes available for a $10 fee to card-carrying members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. And 14 is code for imprisoned white supremacist David Lane's 14-word motto: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children."

The giveaway that something was amiss, Hooper said, was the truck itself. An enormous photo of the burning World Trade Center towers covers the entire tailgate, with the words: "Everything I ever needed to know about Islam I learned on 9/11."
....

"If the license plate had been on a VW Beetle with nothing else on it, or a Volvo station wagon, no one would probably have noticed," said Hooper. "But when the Confederate flag is thrown in . . . it shows the convergence of anti-government and anti-Islamic sentiments that unfortunately seem to be growing."

14. I guess you never saw the archival footage from the Nuremberg Rally of 1940...
Herbie, also known as Herr Herbert aka Herbert Von Volkswagen aka Herbert the Kliegswagen (war car), is seen in the background sporting the Iron Cross across it's hood.

Disney, took pity upon the down and out and much vilified little "people car" and in 1968, gave the vehicle a massive image overhaul.

All records of Von Volkswagen's past have been scrubbed via Disney's close contacts in the CIA, FBI, OSS and AAA.

During production of, the now famous film, Herbie the Love Bug, several of the set mechanics were rumored to be of Nazi origin. Any questions regarding the aforementioned crew members, would result in immediate firing.

After primary shooting was completed, Von Volkswagen suffered a massive blown head casket and was shuffled off continent once mechanic records were uncovered of the incident. All substantial "Herbies" were close imitators.

Last known were abouts of the original Von Volkswagen, has Herbert living out the remainder of it's days in Brazil. Before finally seizing up completely in 1974.

The movie, "Boys From Brazil" was supposed to have an all automobile cast, but was changed at the last minute due to Volkswagen of Germany using it's influence via the state dept to change the plot of the film.

The original film footage, showing Von Volkswagen at the Nuremberg rally, was destroyed in a mysterious fire in a State Dept vault in 1987.

17. The rumors that Pope Pius was instrumental in forging fake a registration papers....
for Von Volkswagen has been consistently denied by Vatican representatives. It is believed that a large key and a magnetic encryption reading "Wind Me Up!" is buried in the bowels of the Sistine Chapel.

12. I doubt the DMV does, but prison systems do training on various gangs and unsavory groups codes and
symbols. The DMV should probably call up and request a copy to prevent stuff like this.

23. it's a bit easier to put two and two together with the visual
The significance of 14 and 88 has been discussed on various TV shows about racist movements and gangs, prison documentaries, etc., so it certainly wouldn't be surprising for someone to see the truck from behind and connect the dots.

19. Why pull this one? They issue official fucking confederate flag plates!
Edited on Mon Apr-26-10 08:48 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
The confederate flag plates are a distinctly UN-coded message and are vastly more offensive than 44CVwhatever.

Virginia...
