The point that Democrats need to make about the republican obstruction is not that the gop gets lots of bank money. So do some Democrats. The political system is so broken that everybody looks for all the campaign money they can get.
No. The problem with the republicans isn't that they are bought by the banks. It's that they really believe that the banks deserve more than the people. They really believe that insurance companies are more important than the people. If we go out and want to show how much money gop congress critters get from banks and insurance, we've lost just as soon as they show the numbers for Democrats. But if we simply point to their belief system that rich people are better than poor and middle class, that corporations are more worthy of care than citizens, and that they alway, always, always side with the bankers and the insurance companies against what is best for people we will have a better shot at unseating them and maybe getting some progressive legislation passed. The people believe that both parties are equally greedy. But the people can understand that republicans favor the rich over the poor and corporate rights over people's rights.
