Gulf oil spill could threaten Florida ( all the way to the Keys and Atlantic ocean.)
Edited on Tue Apr-27-10 09:09 AM by flyarm
Please look at the front page of the ST Pete Times..at this link..other links don't show the loop currents of the Gulf of Mexico..and how this could go all the way down to the Keys wrappng around to the Atlantic

The air yesterday where I am on the Beach in Fla near Tampa..smelled like rotten onions all day yesterday..or rotten B.O...the smell gagged me..it was so horrible..and our local Tampa news last night said they got thousands of calls yesterday about the smell..they broadcast that it was smoke and air from the spill..and the smell was from Tampa down to Ft Meyers ( for those that don't know the area..Tpa to Ft Meyeres is approx a 3 hour drive down the west coast of Fla) By last night the smell turned to a smokey smell..

WE got no warnings about the air quality..or the health risks for seniors or those infirmed..we only got info during the weather reports about the stinking air smells ..

If you don't know how to get this link to the real copy of the front page of the ST Pete Times....you will get the Tampa bay edition without the pictures of the Loop Currents.

http://www.tampabay.com/specials/publication/Times_1A/20100427.pdf

see the pictures there of the Gulf Loop currents..

St Pete Times:

Gulf oil spill could
threaten Florida

Officials predict winds will push the oil spill closer to Florida by today.
Oceanographers fear that if the spill gets caught in the gulf's powerful
loop current, the oil could wind up on the beaches of the Keys and then
be swept north along the state's Atlantic coast.

5. That's true too
but Obama's willingness to follow these lunatics won't kick in for years.
No question about the direction of the wind right now.

6. The financial impact to this state will be enormous.
Hotels, beachfront restaurants & bars, charter fishing, snorkeling & diving industries all clinging to survive in this economy will be shut down if that happens. Lawsuits by the 1000's.

7. I want to thank all the Dem's here who stood by the Dem's in the Coastal states who were supportive ...
Edited on Tue Apr-27-10 10:16 AM by flyarm
those of us Dem's here that have fought for decades to keep these rigs out of our waters..and the possible destruction of our Eco-System.

Thank you to those dems who supported our fears of this kind of disaster and who cared enough to know the truth..

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

now to those who didn't give a shit...

To those NEW DEM'S who stood by Obama allowing drilling close to our coastlines and millions of miles of drilling off our coast lines..

We told you..we told you what a disaster a spill could bring upon our waters and our land..but you were condescending and told us to basically STFU...now I have one thing to say to you..fuck you!

You didn't care enough to read the research..or reports of what happens in these spills..you didn't even care to know that these oil companies do not have to report anything they don't want to about clean up or recovery..You didn't care enough to read our legislative reports to know of the damage done during hurricanes..as long as Obama was doing it ..it was wonderful to you..irregardless of how many decades Democrats have fought to keep these rigs out of our waters!Or how many democratic politicians ( including Obama!!!!!!!!!) who have stood in front of us and promised to keep these oil rigs out of our waters ..You didn't care what the threat would be to our eco system..or our marine life..you didn't care about the economic disaster that would be created by a spill..uyou only cared about Obama..

Well again I will say this to you..after smelling my air stink of B.O. or rotten onions all day yesterday and having no clue what the environmental aspect of that could be or mean..or the health threat it could have caused to millions of Floridians..

go fuck yourself!

11. The panhandle of Florida is the most conservative and republican part of the state
Even folks here were against drilling near our coasts. I remember the one and only time our Republican reps stood up to Bush was on that issue. My heart dropped to hear Obama agree with Bush and now this.

16. Even (R) Mel Martinez went against the repigs on drilling! He stoood firm with Nelson!
Obama has done what no repig could do with the democrats fighting them all the way..not Reagan, GH BUsh , Gw Bush or jebbie could get this drilling through the wall dems had put up.

Only Obama did it...in 1 1/2 years he did what no repigs could in decades.

14. Your beaches are our playground
We like to make our pilgrimages to the beach from up here in the cold north.

I ache over the thought of a Gulf Coast sunset with an oil rig in the middle of it. Or as we now have and predicted would happen, beaches darkened by the pollution caused by man who put greed above all else.

yesterday I learned that these corps don't have to disclose much OFANYTHING with the American people..or the government..so no one will tell you if or when or how they will stop this disaster!

Or if the air we are now breathing is harmful to our health!

Yeah Sarah pushed Drill Baby drill..many Floridans voted against HER AND THAT ..but it wasn't Sarah that fucked us...it was Obama that did it..LETS NOT LOSE SIGHT OF THAT..A REPUBLICAN DIDN'T DO THIS..OBAMA DID.. ..and now we are told we must follow with "BLIND OBEDIENCE!"

WHILE OUR ECO SYSTEM GETS FUCKED AND OUR MARINE LIFE DIES..AND WE ALL GET FUCKED ..BY OBAMA.. NOTHING MORE THAN a two bit con man!

One wonders if Jimmy Choo has diving gear available for the first lady?:eyes:

23. God this is disgusting....
I have seen first hand the effects of even small spills here in the SF Bay Area. To think a Democratic President would even THINK of opening up our cointry to more disasters like this osne makes my head explode.

This is the reality of offshore drilling -- spills happen and habitats are destroyed.

Fuck that shit.

Wind, solar, geothermal -- that is the future our country should be focused on, not this nuke, coal, oil crap this administration is so happy to force on us.
