WASHINGTON - Money may not grow on trees, but you could find some cash coming out of your lawn mower.
There has been a settlement reached in a class-action lawsuit that accuses Sears Department Stores and other manufacturers of inflating horsepower figures on lawn mower engines. snip

Several companies are named in the lawsuit, including Briggs & Stratton, Honda and John Deere.

You can get up to $35 for each walk-behind mower and up to $75 for each riding mower that was bought between Jan. 1, 1994 and April 12, 2010, if it was manufactured by a company named in the lawsuit.

1. You mean to tell me
my lawnmower will not lift 99.44 tons one foot in one minute?

2. I always ignore those class-action suit notices. I got a postcard about this, and
pitched it, because I'm pretty happy with my John Deere.

3. I received a card about it that said I could get up
to $35. My mower runs fine, I threw the card away. We should be able to sue the blood sucking lawyers for inflating the price on every product you purchase.

4. I've got the paper work half filled out. During that time frame, I bought 4 riding tractors and 1
push mower.

5. Wow. I know I probably qualify, but I don't feel very 'harmed'.
I will probably submit a claim though, cause if I don't, I imagine the lawyers will just keep the proceeds.
