Chamber of Commerce RUNNING ADS For Blanche Lincoln
<>

WASHINGTON -- File this one under "with friends like these ...": The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is buying TV ads to support Sen. Blanche Lincoln against Lt. Gov. Bill Halter in the Arkansas Democratic primary, which could help Lincoln out, obviously, but could also help Halter continue to make the case that she's too close with big business.

The ads started airing Tuesday. "In Arkansas, we depend on our small businesses, and for years small businesses have counted on Senator Blanche Lincoln," the ad says. "Call Senator Lincoln and thank her for protecting small businesses and family farms. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is responsible for this advertising."

Lincoln has been blasting Halter for relying on support from labor unions. "There is a tremendous number of outside groups that are coming in and spending large numbers of money in Arkansas, both in the fall running negative ads against me, and now in the primary running negative ads against me," she said during a debate in Little Rock on Friday. Other outside groups, like MoveOn, have also rallied to Halter.

1. She has big business on her side. So it is not a surprise.
Ironic that she's complaining about Halter being responsible for 'outside groups coming in and spending large numbers of money in Arkansas' though. Shouldn't the COC be pleased about that?

This is a very important primary, as well as the Marcy Winograd/Jame Harman primary. If we get rid of those two it would be a great start to reforming this country politically.

The DLC is supporting Harman and Lincoln ~ no surprise there either. These two are a snapshot of what the Democratic Party will look like when the DLC completes its takeover.

Sad that Obama is supporting Lincoln also ~ although with Rahm as COS, that's not a surprise either.

3. Yes, we should get rid of BOTH and support candidates with clear, strong Democratic Party positions

instead of bullshit DINOS such as Harman who bragged in the 1998 California gubernatorial race that she called herself "the best Republican in the Democratic Party."

Give me a f***en break!!

2. Rule # 1 ,anyone supported by the USCC should be avoided
The USCC is only a mouthpiece for multinational corporations. The name sounds real nice and makes us old farts think of the local chamber of commerce who actually did something to support local business.
Bigger isn't necessarily better and the USCC proves that. It's time to start building local sustainable economies to avoid the screw ups of those people who think they are smarter than we are.
