Philly Crowd Attacks Men in Nazi Garb

Philly Crowd Attacks Men in Nazi Garb

(April 27) -- Three men wearing Nazi garb sparked a brawl with approximately 50 people outside a hardcore punk concert in Philadelphia.

Witnesses said the men were mocked inside the Khyber club Friday night for sporting tattoos of Nazi symbols and wearing camouflaged combat pants, WWII-style coats emblazoned with SS emblems and Third Reich hats with Nazi insignias.

Jimmy Gestapo, the frontman for the New York-based band Murphy's Law, told the Philadelphia Daily News that the trio incited a "semi-riot" outside the venue in between two of the band's sets.

According to a Philadelphia Examiner report that appears to have since been removed from the newspaper's website, "glass smashed and a footrace ensued" as the crowd closed in and attacked the three men, chasing them down the busy block of Philadelphia's Old City neighborhood.

"One Nazi was caught right in the middle of 2nd street as punches, kicks, bottles, boots and blows rained down upon his prone and turtled body. He could be heard crying for help all up and down the block," the Examiner report read. "The other two were caught nearby and beaten severely."

My husband knows him pretty well.
ETA: My husband did say the guy's not the brightest bulb, though. Picked the name because it was cool.

24. Wow! What a KEWL name! How could anyone possibly think that he's a nazi?
 :sarcasm:

Sid Vicious once donned a t-shirt with a Swastika because he thought it was "EDGY". Well, it's not edgy - it's just stupid.

It's ironic. Like your name. Because I'm going to guess you don't really like the Devil.

30. Gotcha. Sorry.
Yeah. Jimmy Gestapo, despite the moronic name, is actually not a bad guy. I mean, his fans were the ones who beat up the Nazis.

7. Violence is wrong
Regardless of his stance, violence is not the answer. There are extremist left wingers and extremist right wingers but none should be subjected to violence. They have the freedom of speech as well and if we start limiting freedom of speech, we are no different that the Republicans scum. And I repeat, violence is not the answer. Anyone supporting violence for such an act does not belong in this country; we should try to be a civil country and like some gun toting repub maniacs.

29. Up the punx!
lol that's one way to handle it. It reminds me of a show I was at about 10 years ago. One knucklehead was walking around pushing people and throwing out seig heil salutes, trying to start a fight so the club would be shut down. We all just ignored him. He went away. Nazi skins are always trying to mess with the punx because of their anti-fascist and anti-racist views and lyrics. It probably takes a little bit of nerve for a nazi to show up at a hardcore show, though.

31. No one should be beaten for their choice of clothing, period.
Either freedom of expression applies to everyone, or to no one.

Finding someone's choice of attire offensive does not give us or anyone the right to physically harm someone.

I would hope most DUers agree.
