4. I think we would be better writing our Congress or President?
The President says that BP is responsible for the costs of this clean-up? How are they going to pay? What if they file bankruptcy? Get an agreement with the country where BP is licensed, that BP will agree to pay half of all its profits for the next ten years to the government of the United States and to the people of our Southern coasts, who were the most damaged by BP's negligence. Sign a friggin' treaty to that effect. If BP stays in business, they pay the people of this country half of everything they make in the next 10 years.

This will serve another very useful purpose. It will create truer competition in the oil industry. Because BP will want to make as much money as it possibly can for its stockholders.
