Reactions to Arizona law...
Sadly, the cries of Naziism, racism, and Stalinism have completely blinded most Americans at this point to the fact that there are many in border states who ARE SCARED. Like it or not, this is an area of operations where our Federal Government HAS FAILED US, and it's sad that so many (including hundreds on DU) have dismissed people's real fear for the safety of their families as nothing but unadulterated racism.

Is this law extremely misguided? YES. Is it going to end the violence and danger in our border states caused by the Federal Government's complete and total failure on this issue? PROBABLY NOT. But are there real lives at stake on this issue and are many people's actions a result of real fear? YES.

Sometimes I think some on DU need to take a step back from trying to use everything as a tool of political convenience, and consider what they would do with a family in the same situation, with out-of-control border "coyotes" trafficking in humans, drugs and weapons within miles of your home.

2. I'm sure that a lot of Latinos are scared by these batshit crazy racists.

But I hope they will get enough support to be able to just live their lives again, many of which are hard enough in the first place.

Thanks for your support.

3. Cowardice And Racism, Sir, Remain What They Are, Whether In the Big City Or the Desert
People who indulge in those vices never do themselves, or anyone else, the slightest good.

5. (facepalm)
Please tell me these threads are satire. Between this and the "anarchy" thread I'm losing all hope in humanity.

6. Sadly, media (especially Faux News) cries of immigration crises have made some border states scared.
And have blinded some weak-minded Americans.

And, worse, have encouraged some demagogic RW politicians to pass stupid laws to try to benefit from the fake crisis that has been created.

7. I live on the border
and I can really see Mexico from my kitchen window,I have seen the border patrol hunt Mexicans like they are animals,a few months ago there were several illegal running across my property and the border patrol in their trucks and a chopper landed in a field a few hundred yards from my fence you could see the fear in their faces I felt so sorry for those poor souls and the way they were treated.I pray that the people that rounded up those people never have to go through the ordeal they placed upon them.
