Greetings from Nola: They capped one leak last night

Just heard on local news in Nola:

They capped one of the leaks last night using an ROV. There are two more. They expect the first dome to arrive on Thursday. It will take them a couple days to level the ocean bed and get it set up. They have only used the dome in shallow water - so it may be difficult since they are 5,000 feet down. The dome will dam the oil and it will then be pumped up to the surface and sucked up into a tanker and transported to land. The second dome has not been built yet. No oil has hit land yet.

Come on down to Nola! They need the tourism! I know of 6 local guest houses and hotels that are for sale.
It is a beautiful time of year.

one of these days i'll get there whether to celebrate or to try and help a clean up effort. hopefully within the next year or so.

have thousands of people ready to help - but you have to be certified to clean up oil.

or just insane? :)
