I know Rasmussen is a Republican pollster who tends to manipulate his numbers but if this is anywhere near reality Crist must be feeling very good. Meek on the other hand appears to be falling by the wayside.

-- so they're voting for Crist.

Here's my question. If Crist & Chaffee get elected as independents, will they decline to caucus with either side? If that were to come to pass, I could see them luring Lieberman, Snowe, Collins, and Nelson (sorta D- NE) joining them. It will depend how the final tally stacks up in the Senate. This would allow them to have a lot of leverage in who gets picked to head what committee.

by the time this nasty election is over with and he wont have much of a choice. I have never heard of any Senator not caucusing with either side. Has that ever happened before?

Edited on Thu May-06-10 08:30 AM by flyarm
belong to 4 dem clubs here!

I was one of only two Poll watchers at large in my large Fla county..and I housed Kerry's field rep in my home in 2004 for 8 months..and helped run the largest Dem Campaign office on the west coast in 2004..

I was in charge of all VIP people who came into my area..during the entire 2004 campaign..we had 15 visits by Kerry..I was the liason for his entire staff.

And I did public speaking for the Kerry campaign throughout the state about 9/11!

And that is just a few of the things I have done with and for the dem party in Fla.

Oh and Meek just spent 3 days in my county..I saw one..one mention of him here on our 24 hour news cycle TV station..ONE..

He is known on the west coast only by very active dems..grandma and grandpa here..know Charlie..they do not know Meek..and we have just been privy to tons of commericals by Crist and Rubio..zip ..from Meek. And instead of Meek going up to Pensacola where the oil spill headquaters were..where he would have gotten on the news cycle..especially with the Dixiecrats.. he was down here in Mid Fla west coast..he was totally ignored..and Crist is on our TV 24/7..showing concern and being a good governor ( perceptions here matter) trying to save our coasts.

and how poorly Meek is performing as a candidate..so if you don't mind..I won't take the post off..and thanks for also trying to educate people here..we should be being thanked that we will do all we can, to save our senate seat from the fascist crud of Jeb's Rubio..instead peoople who just don't get it..or are ignorant of Fla politics want to harass us or call us names..because we are saving them from Rubio as well!

What many of them don't understand is Meek was just given a primary contest..By billionaire Green..the guy ran as a republican in my former home of the San Fernando Vally of Calif, and he was crushed..so it seem Jebbie recruited him here..and Green is running against Meek in a primary..with billions of his own $$ and he says he is going to finance his own campaign..against Meek..

he is another of the Jebb Machine..he will run Meek out of his money..before the general..so Jebbie's boy Rubio has no contest..

we Floridians dems and moderate repubs alike... can not let that happen.

With what i am seeing..a vote for Meek could be a vote for Rubio..unless there is a drastic change real quick..and i just don't see that happening..

Oh and no one can win Fla without winning the I-4 corridor..Crist's home town is the anchor of the I-4 corridor..

Add to that fact...Crist is pretty popular with Dems in Fla. ( seniors, of which we have a huge population of)

34. Rubio is a genuine fascist. Seriously.
We often use that word figuratively, but Prettyboy Marco is the real deal. He really is a fascist.

Meek has yet to start campaigning and doesn't seem to be in a hurry to do it.

And, though it is heresy to say it around here, Crist is actually better than Obama when it comes to education, an issue very dear to me.

not so much with Dem activists ..but there are a hell of alot more indy's and seniors that are not dem activists!

Sometimes you have to look at the numbers and be realistic..in my opinion ..and it is my opinion..Crist is saving we dems and giving us a small window of opportunity to save ourselves from Rubio.

He is now forcing an OPEN PRIMARY..making it harder for the repukes from stealing it for Rubio..

and we shouldn't be purists over drilling..and we shouldn't be purists over DADT or immunity for telecoms that illegally spied on Americans..and that hate what is going on in Arizona..but say nothing about National ID cards that Obama and the Dem's are shoving through..

Are the same people now telling us we have to be purists in our state and go against all our better judgment and thereby all but guaranteeing a fascist senator who is young and would be with us for decades, who is Jeb's boy....over a Dem with little / to no chance of winning..but now we must be purists..

which is it folks..can anyone here make up their minds????? or make some damn sense?

I will vote for who is best for my state that can win and keep Rubio out..Rubio will be a disaster for Florida and for our country as a senator. Of that i have absolutely no doubt!

45. I'm not telling you who to vote for. I'm saying Crist is a Republican...
running as an independent because he is not a whacked out crazy fucking teabagger. Voting for Crist is voting for a Republican, who will work form a conservqtvie Republican philosophy.

Vote for him if you feel it is in your best interest, but do not try to pass on the illusion that Crist is dramtically different from Jeb Bush or George Bush. The difference between Crist and Lieberman, is that Lieberman will sometimes vote for progressive legislation.

A vote for Crist is a vote for a Republican. Vote for whomever you please.

in every facet of Fla politics!

And it is the Dem party that usually recruits them to run as dems!

You may not know Fla politics..but we Floridans do..and have seen the national Dem party recruit scummy repigs to run as Dems! And not give a damn dime to our real dems!

spare us please..we will vote for the best person to stop the damn fascist Rubio!..the one who will beat Rubio..Jeb's boy.........

and the only one to ever stand up against the Jeb Machine is Charlie..that is why Jebbie fucked Crist..because Crist wouldn't fuck the people to kiss Jebbies ass!

If you don't know the Fla politics..please don't tell us what you think..we don't care what you think..we will do what is best for Florida and for our senate, and our nation.

Jeb just put up a billionaire friend of his as a primary challange for Meek to run out Meeks money to fuk Meek...a former republican who ran for office as a repuke in Calif....Jeb will do any sleezy thing he can to get his boy Rubio into our senate..I and many many dems in Fla will do our best to keep that from happening..

10. Nationally at least, this race seems to be between Crist and Rubio
I honestly had not seen or heard of Rubio until I saw him on TV. He looks slick and scary. My mom was saying he's probably the most charismatic person the loonies have and after seeing him for a few minutes, I think she's probably right.

Meeks, on the other hand has had little coverage. I didn't even know what he looked like until I googled his name. I wonder if it has been better in FL, but considering this is becoming a "national" race, this can't be helping how much money he's raising.

I wish him the best of luck, but I have to say that if I lived in FL I'd probably end up supporting Crist at this point. He looks like he has a strong shot at this and while I'm sure I wouldn't agree with a lot of his votes, this Rubio guy seems crazy. And of course, he's a Jeb Bush guy and a Teabagger favorite. Crist has managed to piss them off quite a bit and I'm impressed with his seemingly sane views on education, the stimulus, and other issues.

18. 3 days ago our local news in Fla had Crist 37% - Rubio 32% - Meek 24%
so I would say that this poll is correct.

Remember Crist is in the news all day long here with the oil spill!

Meek is never in the news here..people on the West Coast don't know him!

nor do the Dixiecrats..

And Crist has been up north for the spill almost daily..and up front in the news.

Now the headquarters for the spill in Fla is moving to St Pete..Charlie's hometown..and the Anchor of the
I-4 corridor.

Then all day today our local Fla news is saying Crist may veto the Abortion law the repig legislature has put forward.

If Charlie does Veto... he will get many many Fla dem women!..

It was a recording and you pushed numbers on the phone as an answer. It was very hard to hear. I chose "don't know much about Meek", "favorable" for Crist, and "unfavorable" for Rubio. I did choose that I would vote for Meek.

But I swear, it was hard to hear and Meek's name wasn't clear at all.
