Man Faces 4,000 Years In Prison Over Alleged Abuse
Suspect Faces 4,136 Years In Prison If Convicted On All Counts

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― A former Folsom resident has been arrested on more than 100 counts of lewd acts with a child. Police say the abuse has gone on for years and if convicted of all counts, the man could be sentenced to 4,136 years in prison.

John Schenberger, 44, was arrested at his home in Fremont and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on Wednesday.

Police say Schenberger engaged in more than 109 counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child and 408 counts of penetration with a foreign object. However, the arrest warrant only lists 31 of those counts.

The Folsom Police Department is handling the case. They say the alleged abuse started back in 2001 when the female victim was 10 years old.

that the sentences are much much lighter and convictions less certain when a family member is involved. Part of it is just...I mean how do you bring charges against your own brother or father or uncle? I wish people understood how hard it is to bring charges against your own family. Then maybe they wouldn't be so harsh in their judgements against victims who can't prosecute.
