So Newsweek is for sale. Hasn't made any money in ages..
I was a subscriber for almost thirty years and when they hired Karl Rove I wrote them a letter and told them I would end my subscription if they hired him as I considered him to be treasonous. They wrote back and said they had to have a Conservative voice and they would be sorry to lose me. Needless to say I asked them to refund any remaining money left on my subscription and have not regretted it a bit..I wonder how ol' Karl Rove helped them anyway....

2. Murdoch will buy it. He byus everything
If the only publications, television stations, and radio stations existing are owned by Murdoch, everybody will believe whatever the fuck Murdoch wants them to.

5. Yes... it will complete his charm bracelet
He bought the premier money paper & stripped away whatever credibility it had earned

he has Faux Snooze

why not buy a reputable weekly news magazine..

Rupert's also bought up publishing companies

I'm surprised he hasn't bought Clear Channel

4. Jesus, what a dismal rag.
I picked up a copy in about 2001 after not having seen it for years, and was astounded to see something almost unreadable: fonts and pictures and columns all askew, looking like People Magazine or some such. Mostly full of entertainment features and breezy, cynical views about banal topics. I looked at a copy of Time, though, and found the same damn thing.

6. "Breezy" sells.. Schools quit teaching "thinking" a while back
and people like short-reads these days..and easy ones as well.:(

Is it any wonder that the rest of the civilized world is eating our lunch?
