April Jobs report: Best gain in four years

By Chris Isidore, senior writerMay 7, 2010: 10:49 AM ET

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- In another sign that the recovery in the U.S. economy is taking hold, employers added significantly more jobs to payrolls in April, according to a government report released Friday.

There was a gain of 290,000 jobs in the month, up from a revised 230,000 jobs added in March. It was the largest number of jobs added to the labor force since March 2006.

The results were much better than expected. Economists surveyed by Briefing.com had forecast a gain of 187,000 jobs.

After nearly two years of job losses, the economy has now added jobs in five of the last six months. With upward revisions for both March and February, there has been a gain of 573,000 jobs since the start of the year.

1. They already have I know

I've seen all kinds of "That's nice but..." followed by typicaly idiocy like most of these are census jobs or ghost jobs (whatever the hell those are).

All you have to do is read threads here that happen to mention a good jobs report and someone will happily add the same RW yapping points to the thread. Probably even this one very soon.

4. Gee why would that be?
Perhaps the fact that every article mentioning the data attributes this to the number of people that are once more entering the hunt for work?

Then again it's sometimes easier to just listen to the prebuttle shit being spewed by Boner and repeating that.

5. MORE PEOPLE are looking for work now
you think that is because ... they are seating at home with worst prospects?

Are you invested in a complete collapse of the economy?

3. Its not just RW doing it, huffington post is also misrepresenting the jobs repor
Any reputable economist agrees the report shows definite progress, while others like to point out that the glass is half empty instead of half full
