We have reached a political tipping point. Either the environmentalists win, or Big Oil wins. Which way we go from here will be our destiny.

1. until every last drop is gone, big oil will ALWAYS win....
I'm terribly cynical about that, I'm afraid.

2. The law of diminishing returns will kill Big Oil
Or make it change into Big Wind or Big Solar or Big Green.

Eventually they won't be Big Oil.

9. Big Oil is leaving the tap running so their demise will be even sooner
than what's been calculated. The bad news is their demise may not be soon enough to save the planet.

12. Am firmly convinced the reason we didn't get wind, solar, green decades ago
was that BIG STATUS QUO didn't have the mechanisms in place to control the meters. Said long ago that WHEN the big cats at the top had that worked out, we would get greener power, but the 'new' boss would be the same as the old masser.

19. Pretty true and pretty said. The world we could have would be a lot better than the world the
the rich are willing to let us have. Maybe the consequences of misrule are reaching the point where we're going to stop waiting on our betters to lead us where we want to go.

Oil will always win until it is gone.

11. Actually all we need is a Democratic Congress that cares
The President doesn't have to be counted if Congress acts. Supposedly the Congress has more power than the President. Supposedly.

The bad guys, across the board, are going to lose big time. I give them one more Republican administration and the jig will be up for good.
