She's 88, Bob Newhart is only 80. I really can't think of too many other octegenarian comedians who are still in the business.

Edited to add: Carl Reiner, who is also 88, but born about two months after Betty.

9. After my comments, it did occur to me about Phyllis Diller

And she is older, but I cannot recall anything she's done for the last ten years or so. I had to give it to Betty, she was in every single skit last night, even in the Weekend Update segment.

13. As I don't watch those shows regularly

I must have missed her performances, unfortunately. Still, she was at her most popular during the Sixties, and may have had some acclaim during the Seventies, but Betty White's been a trouper for quite some time now, and her performance Saturday night leaves me in awe of her abilities.

All the best to Phyllis Diller, I hope she's feeling well, her Wikipedia entry shows that she's had some medical issues lately. She was hugely funny on "The Pruitts of Southampton", I'm old enough to remember that show!
