Kansas could see really nasty weather Monday. Predicting "ominous Tornado threat

Ominous� tornado threat for Wichita area MondayA textbook scenario for a violent weather outbreak is taking shape for Monday afternoon and evening in the eastern half of Kansas � including the Wichita metropolitan area.

�It looks like all the ingredients are going to be there,� said Dick Elder, meteorologist in charge at the Wichita branch of the National Weather Service. �This is the most ominous weather pattern for our warning area so far this year.�

That warning area covers the 26 counties in the southeast corner of Kansas. The Wichita office has already posted this graphic on its website home page

2. Hurricanes and tornadoes are not my favorites. Snow storms are OK as is rain. But

what I don't like are earthquakes. At least you know the storms are coming...

3. Yep - they're already saying damaging winds, large hail, etc in Kansas City on Monday.

Scary. Hope it doesn't interfere with my tv viewing on Monday evening (damn Katie Horner).
