My RW Bush-loving fundamentalist mother....

She fixed my hurts when I was growing up. She took me to all my softball games and cheered me on. She managed to tell me about the birds and bees without fainting (she tells me it was excruciating for her). She didn't stop loving me through my wild and crazy teenage years.

To this day she will listen patiently when I have a problem, laugh at my stupid jokes, argue with me when our opinions clash, and will always stand by my side.

She's still my Mom and I love her.

5. politicians of both stripes really only care about their own jobs.

so i don't really care which way my family and friends swing.

i'm not going to sever a relationship over partisan teamsports that won't matter one bit when i'm dead.

6. My 80 year old mother changed her registration from R to D a few years back.

Although I don't think she was ever all that conservative and I don't think she voted for all that many Republicans. She just registered the same as her parents and never bothered to change it. I think Bush (and the political activism of her sons) finally pushed her to change it. We never pressured her in any way she just asked me one day how she could change.

But I'd love her whatever her politics.
