Allegations, concerns follow White Sulphur Springs' new doctorBy ERIN MADISON • Tribune Staff Writer • May 9, 2010
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS — A new doctor at Mountainview Medical Center has caused a stir here.
Dr. Michael Jenkins came to White Sulphur Springs in November with a tarnished background.
Jenkins, who grew up in Dillon, was issued a probationary medical license by the Montana Board of Medical Examiners because he failed to inform the board that he had been denied a license in Nevada, was discharged from his residency training program and was accused of allegedly bartering sexual services in exchange for plastic surgery in Nevada.
A number of White Sulphur Springs-area residents have expressed concerns about Jenkins since his arrival.
At a monthly hospital board meeting in late April, several community members spoke out about Jenkins allegedly taking some local high school boys for a ride in his Chevy Corvette at speeds of up to 140 miles per hour.
