Rekers Resigns from NARTH

Great American Wingnut Dr. George Rekers, who recently purchased a gay human from Rentboy.com to carry his luggage, give him massages, and {censored Wonkette naughty bit}, has resigned from the board of NARTH, “the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality.” It probably has to do with the fact that he likes young, professionally gay men to {more Wonkette naughty bits censored}, in Europe, {censored} Earth.

Pruden also denied a report in the Miami New Times that NARTH had been involved in helping Rekers respond to the media.

“NARTH has never had any role in advising Dr. Rekers except to suggest that if he is innocent he needs to get a good lawyer,” Pruden said in an email. “He has friends who are members of NARTH and they are free to talk with, advise, and needless to say, they are free to help him in any way they might select.”

“NARTH as an organization has taken no official role in this other than asking him to explain to us what has happened and in accepting his resignation,” he said...

5. I hope this story expands
a.) the second rentboy has surfaced and said he has had many.
b.) The Atty. General in FL Bill McCollum (who is the conservative Repub. candidate for governor) has a lot of explaining to do regarding his role in selecting and paying this guy $120,000 for 'expert' testimony in Florida gay adoption case.

No, I hope this story grows legs and sticks around a few weeks.

14. This Rekers thing hits close to home...
I'll admit that I've done things similar, when I was underage, to what Jo-Vanni Roman did with this creep. In fact, there was once a high official of the state education department involved. These creeps are so sanctimonious, that they really do believe that EVEN IF there is sex involved, it somehow different than if it's for "the masses," because they're some sort of elite that is intellectually aware. Sickening. I think Jo-Vanni Roman deserves a lot of credit for coming forward and speaking frankly.
