The Gulf Oil Spill is an Act of Terrorism
Isn't this just the kind of thing we are spending untold billions trying to prevent? And BP spending $500,000 could have prevented it? Criminally negligent terrorism. That's what it is.

1. If it is true Cheney is responsible he should be
on trial.

8. He and Bush should have been on trial in international courts
when they Illegally invaded Iraq. For oil. Is it just me, or is there a pattern of greed here?

3. The basic difference is that the Gulf Spill wasn't not carried out
for the purpose of causing terror, only to get as rich as possible as fast as possible. I'm certainly not defending the oil company. In fact, they should be put out of business permanently.

4. No, it isn't terrorism...
This was not an act performed with malice and forethought in order to terrorize a people into making changes to their political system.

It was an accident brought about through short sighted arrogance in pursuit of a buck.

There is not correlation between the oil spill and terrorism.

10. I can see feeling angry, worried, or several other emotions,
but terrorism is different.

12. Definitions are transient. By my definition, I feel terrorized. And I'm wondering where and when
they will strike next.

20. Words have real meanings, except in Alice in Wonderland...
Just because you feel terrorized doesn't make it terrorism. It just meas you are frightend.

There was no intent to terrorize.

6. Nope. It is Corporation Socialism in action
BP will be out a few billions. We the people will defray the rest of the costs, and these will be measured in tens or hundreds of billions. BP took the risks with our ecological capital and reaped the rewards, a privatization of profit. We the people will suck up the burden of the damage now that one of their risky ventures has gone sour. As this slick moves around, breaks up, comes aground in different places, there will be implications to international politics and law, and doubtless we the people will bear the brunt of that as well.

Socialism is alive and well in America ... socialism of a sort. It just ain't the sort that benefits the average working human, nor the society of which that person is a member.

17. I have been screaming for a corporate death penalty for years
BP and Halliburton (because of the subsidiary) should be tombstoned. BP should not be allowed any business in the US, nor be listed on any exchange here.
