The mind is a terrible thing to erase. Come CAPTION this teabagging bambino!!!

This young man just finished saying: "My dad says that nobody gave him a whopping much less spanked the tar outta him when he was a kid. Besides, he's black. . . . But if his dad had been around and took the strap to him on a regular basis, he might love freedom like we do. If he'd been beat black and blue by his daddy, he mighta grown up straight. Sometimes it really hurts, but I know I'm growing up straight!"

9. More than hate. Misinformation, falsehoods, and out-and-out lies.
The hate is a bi-product of the aforementioned.

3. I just find it sad. I am trying to teach my daughters some good values.
Like treating other people they way you want to be treated, that sort of thing. But I would never make them carry a political sign when they don't know what it means.

10. I find it sad and teach my daughter to use an encyclopedia on words she does not fully understand.
Just about all those words on the kids signs...I can guarantee he does not understand...otherwhise he would see how inapt the labeling is.

8.  "You've got to be taught to hate and fear... you've got to be carefully taught..." nt
"You've got to be taught to hate and fear
You've got to be taught from year to year
It's got to be drummed in your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught

You've got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made
And people whose skin is a different shade
You've got to be carefully taught

You've got to be taught before it's too late
Before you are six or seven or eight
To hate all the people your relatives hate
You've got to be carefully taught
You've got to be carefully taught"

14. What frightens me is that he seems so normal. He even looks a
bit like my son at that age. He looks like a good kid.

But we realize something has been injected into him. Yes the "hard teaching,' the learning that life is meagre, brutal. Probably the strap as well. And the even more frightening part is that he'll look normal or average in 20 years. But his lusts, rapacities, hatred will be snarling in their cage, his twenty-something mind. Then watch out!

21. I was going to write that many near teens and young teens try to hide.
They mask the potential richness inside with dead exterior. They don't want to be called out, or seen to be caring too much.

So I was going to write that this "deadness" comes with the age often. But then I looked again and saw an aggressiveness to his deadness, a stance and certainty, which is not shared by the "normal" young man, whose deadness has to look casual, uncaring.

Yes, there's a "hard deadness" in his eyes.
