Poll question: Sestak vs. Specter - who do you support
Just curious. Honestly, I think PA will be fine with whomever gets the nomination, Specter has been moving to the left since switching parties.

But I'm curious to know where DUers stand on this.

1. The winner, they are both fighting for the nomination and may the
best candidate win. Either one will have my support over their GOP rival.

5. Specter. Don't like him too much, but really don't trust Sestak at all.
I live in PA - Specter has been my Senator.

7. I don't think either one is really a Democrat
But if I lived in PA, I'd probably go with Sestak, simply because I could never vote for anyone who played a role in one of the greatest crimes ever committed against the people of the United States of America.

11. If I lived in Pennsylvania I'd vote for Sestak
I couldn't bring myself to vote for a faux Democrat who managed to stick with the Republicans all through the Bush administration and only switched parties because he was worried about his chances in a Republican primary.

14. Sestak has all the momentum
and momentum is critical heading to November.

The only choice here is Sestak. We need to hold this seat and Specter has proved he cannot get the job done.

20. Tracking Polls are updated every day.
Yesterday Sestak was up 4, today its tied. Though in general I understand what you are saying, Specter had a huge lead, now he doesnt.

18. I don't really like or trust
either one but at least Sestak has always been a dem, who knows what Specter will do. And Spector is 80, not in good health either, or hasn't been, I wouldn't want an appointment or a special election when we need a vote.

19. Specter made a deal
He's not moved left, he made a deal to vote more as a Dem in order to get Dem campaign support. Should he actually win and retain his seat he'll go right back to being the same shit he always was. The ONLY reason he switched parties was because of a deal, and he was willing to make that deal because he knew he couldn't maintain his seat running as a Repub. ALL he cares about is keeping his ass in his seat, and all deals are off if he gets to put his ass back in it. He's the epitome of what sort of Senator is most objectionable... putting his own self before anyone or anything else regardless of the detriment to anyone else. It sickens me that anyone either Dem or Repub would vote for anyone so obviously selfish and transparent.

34. If he loses the primary, he will be a reliable republican vote in their filibusters. It would not
surprise if he switched back if he lost the primary. The republicans would be glad to have his votes.

That said, gun to my head I'd probably vote for Specter.

23. I'm more concerned about Sestak's seat in the House
if he gets the Senate primary vote...I wish he would have stayed in the House and assured that would stay Dem....Specter will vote with the Dem's anyway so we really gain nothing and possibly loss a seat in the House...

30. Spector ... he was given a pledge that the party
would support him if he changed and that pledge should be honored. To not support him gives word to others that might otherwise change from repug to Democrat to not bother. Still I don't live in PA so it's not my choice to make. :yoiks:

Specter is a parasite who will stop at nothing to retain power. Time for Mr. Magic Bullet to go home.
