By Diana FasanellaA Washington man is facing two counts of assault for scarring his three children by branding them with a hot iron similar to those used on cattle.
Dad of the year: These kids are my property
Mark Seamands of Sequim is accused of branding his 13- and 15-year-old sons with the letters “SK” for Seamands Kids, KIROTV.com reports. The father of three also allegedly branded his 18-year-old daughter, but faces no charges in that case because she was old enough to give consent.
The youngest boy’s brand was burned on his chest, while the middle boy’s is on his arm. The daughter’s is on the back of her leg, according to the children’s mother Alison Davis, who allegedly went through a bitter divorce with Seamands.
The children are reportedly proud of their brands and support their father. One even had a cell phone video of the actual branding taking place, which is expected to be shown to the jury in court.
