Palin wears the hopey-changey Emma Peel leather outfit to Chicago to take potshots at Obama

"LOOK AT MY GIANT MOUTH! I CANNOT KEEP IT CLOSED! DO YA LUUUUUUURRRRRRVVVVVE YA FREEDOM? DO YA? DO YA LUUUUUUURRRRRRVVVVVE YA FREEDOM CHICAGO? DO YA? DO YA? DO YA?"

Not surprisingly, Sarah Palin had no problem dissing President Obama on his home turf Wednesday night, as she spoke to 4,000 Chicagoland fans about the Tea Party, patriotism and a local school's decision to prevent its girls basketball team from traveling to Arizona due to its new immigration law.

The event, in suburban Rosemont, followed a GOP fundraiser nearby.

Palin told the cheering crowd that she was "glad to be here on the president's home turf," adding: "Somebody told me, 'You know you're going into enemy territory.' I said, 'It's Chicago -- it's not MSNBC."

The Chicago Tribune reports:

With a huge U.S. flag behind her and a podium in front of her, Palin criticized the "hopey, changey thing" in mocking Obama's campaign pledge of hope and change. She contended Obama's domestic agenda was expanding government and "leading us to European-style socialism with a European-style debt crisis right around the corner."

9. Any words coming from the mouth of Sarah Palin should
come with a BLACK BOX warning about the contents. Such as: "The following or preceding message has not been verified as to truth or factual content. Exposure may cause Brain Damage and a lowered IQ. Listen at your own risk."

Sarah, how is that "Drill, Baby, Drill!" thing working for you? You know, Sarah, that could be the Alaska coast line instead of La., Miss., Alabama and Florida. But then again Sarah probably does not realize that those states are part of the United States. Since she can not see them from her home, she is not concerned about them.

Isn't Sarah's 15 minutes up yet? Or is she like Kate?

10. I can guess what she said in her speech:
1. She told the "thanks, but no thanks" lie.

2. She talked about Joe six pack, and how she's just a regular ($12 millionaire) gal like the audience is.

3. She dissed MSNBC because they tell the truth about what a worthless piece of shit she is.

4. She promoted her book (the old one).

5. She promoted her new book.

6. She fired up the audience with talk about how high their taxes are. (The audience is too stupid to realize their taxes were lower in 2009 than in any year since 1950.)

7. She blamed Obama for big government, ignoring the fact that government grew incredibly under Bush.

8. She blamed the deficit on Obama, ignoring the fact that the deficit grew more under Bush.

9. She accused the Democrats of intentionally causing the oil leak in the Gulf, just so they can push through their environmental plans.

10. Sarah encourages audience participation as they all chant "drill, baby, drill" for 10 minutes, then applaud themselves for the next 5 minutes.

11. Sarah promotes one of her books.

12. Sarah promotes the other book.

13. Sarah talks about how mean MSNBC is to her, and how they make up lies about her.

14. She mentions that the Katie Couric interview was a set-up.

15. She tells the audience they are the future of America.

16. She tells the audience she is out there everyday fighting for them. (The money means nothing to her. Really.)

17. She says something nasty she made up about libruls.

18. She says something nasty she made up about (insert name of Dem politician here).

19. Pelosi is Satan.

20. Sarah promotes her book.

21. Sarah promotes her other book. (Gotta get some advance interest going...)

22. Sarah says Obama is a socialist, and is out to destroy the country.

23. One last big lie to really rile up the audience, then Sarah's outta there. Make sure the money is in the bank, see ya later, suckers.

Palin is a liar.

Palin is a hypocrite.

Palin is a homophobe.

Palin is a racist.

Palin is an opportunist.

And the most pathetic thing of all is the people who pay to see her are being grifted, and they don't even realize it. Palin is in it for the money. Period. She couldn't possibly care less about anyone else's interests or well being. This is all for her. She's the star, and she'll lie to whoever is willing to pay to be lied to.

Republicans are idiots.

Tea Baggers are idiots.

End of rant. (Can't stand the woman, her image is offensive to me, her voice is like Bush's...fingernails scratching down a chalkboard.)

42. Well; there is one thing she can't claim in her speechifying...
And that would be that she quit governating to spend more time with her family, in particular little Trig.

"I know he needs me, but I need him even more...what a child can offer to set priorities RIGHT - that time is precious."

But not nearly as precious as money and fame, huh Sarah?

14. "She contended Obama's domestic agenda was...leading us to European-style socialism."
For once, I wish Palin were right. :) Unfortunately her insightful analysis is wrong as usual.

"Some Republicans apparently thought they'd have to move to the middle to win. I said, 'No, no, no, no, no. You win by letting the middle move to you. You let the folks in the middle of the road know that your ideas are the right ones."

I hope she keeps using whatever (light) weight she has to push the repubs as far to the right as possible. If she wants to believe that those ideas will appeal to most voters, so much the better for us.

"[]WBEZ reports that just 35 percent of Illinois voters view Palin favorably, but state Republicans appreciate that she gets a some of the conservative base fired up."

That's like speaking at an event on the Main Line outside of Philly and claiming you spoke in Philly. Big difference between the suburbanites and urban dwellers.

BTW that's 18 miles between Rosemont and Chicago

Democraphics of Rosemont:

The racial makeup of the village was 79.24% White, 1.35% African American, 0.88% Native American, 4.40% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 11.55% from other races, and 2.56% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 35.35% of the population

37. In keeping with my pledge not to start new Palin threads,
I'll add this post here: http://theimmoralminority.blogspot.com/2010/05/somebody-actually-had-to-pay-sarah.html (I'm copying the whole thing because Gryphen's site doesn't always work.)

I have heard too many Palin speeches to completely retain my sanity at this point, and many of them have been so bad, that the word "bad" does not even adequately describe them.

From the speech she gave to introduce Mikael Reagan in the PAC in Anchorage, to her resignation speech backed up by the sound of loons on the corpse of Lake Lucille, to the famous "notes on her hand speech" delivered to the Teabaggers in Nashville, I have heard them all and they have all sucked.

But THIS one, this one may have to be defined using a new word made up just for the occasion.

<video here - It's 40 minutes long, so I certainly wouldn't ask anyone to watch the whole thing.>

First she starts off telling, I kid you not, "Redneck jokes". Only she cannot really tell them because she claims they simply describe her life, as if she can fool these poor ignorant people into believing that despite her multiple millions of dollars she still might just have a car transmission sitting in her bathtub.

She then moves on to making references to local sports teams in an effort to connect with an audience that came to hear her speak about her experiences parenting a child with Down's syndrome. I mean WTF?

Then there are references to oil spills, Todd's native heritage, the need for domestic drilling, and then she somehow tries to connect all of that back to the people who volunteer for places like Rainbow Omega, an organization that she is only speaking at because SHE WAS PAID TO SPEAK!

And as if these people had not suffered enough, Palin actually attempts to read a poem (Gee I wonder if IT will be in her new book?). After which she launches into telling the biggest, most outrageous, Sarah Palin lie of them all, the lie about learning that she was pregnant with Trig.

Of course there are lots of references to God, LOTS of references to God, before she trots out the entire pantheon representing HER personal mythology; her perfect children, Todd's Alaska cred as a worker on the North Slope and commercial fisherman, her ability to juggle her job as governor while caring for her family, their simple rustic lifestyle, all culminating in the birth of the most important Palin demi-god of all, Trig Paxon Van Palin. (By the way Sarah claims that she just did not know HOW to inform her family that Trig would be born with Down's syndrome, when in fact she did not even tell them she was having this baby until the day before she told the world, at which time she would have already been seven months along.)

At this point in the speech Palin tries to use the forum to slam what she derisively calls "Obama-care" and desperately attempts to convince her audience that the new health care plan will make it much more difficult for the special needs community to get services. She also trots out the Republican talking point that "government isn't the answer, government is the problem". Which demonstrates just how out of touch she is with her audience which, as parents of children with special needs, surely must rely on a number of government programs to help them care for their loved ones. (Without access to Medicaid funding many of the programs used by the special needs community would not even exist.)

I have found NO evidence that Palin "worked with the Autism community for over a decade" in case you were wondering. But this is the audience that she is addressing so that is the lie that she picks to tell.

I believe that THIS is the first of Palin's speeches that has been recorded in its entirety, and now we all know why. It is almost shockingly bad, and the idea that she is receiving money to spew such garbage in front of a paying audience would almost be comical if it was not so terribly, terribly sad.

I wonder if, now that more people can see her in action, there will be so many organizations interested in paying this woman to slaughter the English language and further her political aspirations on their dime? Personally I think we should send a link to this video to EVERYBODY who even hints that they are thinking of hiring her to speak.
