MoveOn Endorses Sestak in PA Senate Race
"Sel from State College told us that "Sestak not only has a better chance of winning in the fall, but he's a Democrat out of conviction, not desperation." Grant from Media said "I live in Sestak's district. He's been sensational as a Congressman." On the other hand, Christine from Meadville worries that "Arlen Specter is an opportunist and cannot be trusted to side with the Democrats."

Joe Sestak has a strong record in Congress, supporting health care reform, clean energy, and a woman's right to choose. If he wins the primary on Tuesday, it'll send a powerful message that voters want Democrats in Congress who'll proudly lead the fight for progressive legislation."

1. Good. Wish I could vote in PA - "Magic Bullet" Specter is toast.

4. No
We have a closed primary in Pennsylvania. However, I've seen a LOT of people in my (Republican) county support Specter. He has a better chance of winning IMO. Having a fake Democrat is better than having a real Republican.

5. Maybe
While one must be registered as a Democrat to be able to vote in the party's primary, we must be mindful of something that happened two years ago. Rush Limpballs started his "Operation Chaos" to get GOP'ers to re-register as Democratic voters in enough time to vote, so they could vote for Hillary, thus dragging out the nomination fight.

Since one did not have to register back as a Republicon for the general election, I'd be willing to bet that large numbers of them have still kept their Democratic registration. When you figure how quickly Specter changed over from Repuke to DINO, they must surely have realized that keeping the faux registration would give them an opportunity to get even with him the very next year.

The only question is, do they take it out on Specter now, by dumping him in the primary, or do they vote for him, setting him up as the weaker candidate against the Rethug nominee this fall? Surely, there are some who like Specter, no matter what, for bringing home the bacon year after year, and would vote for him over Sestak so that they get a Repuke no matter who wins in the fall.

9. I'm suggesting
that that a falsely registered Repub would have kept his registration in the Democratic column in order to mess with Specter, which could be considered far more important than some minor local race.

7. only if they changed their registration before 30 days prior to the election
or, if those who switched for the 2008 primary never got around to switching back.

3. As they should
Sestak, though conservative on some issues, is a Democrat.

6. The numbers look pretty good for Sestak in this primary, and I
hope he can take it.

Arlen Specter has served in the Congress since -- what, several decades ago now -- maybe before that -- possibly since the Franklin Pierce administration? Since the third Crusade?

Something like that.

I'm rooting for Joe.
