BPs latest oil fix fails

5. Probably developed during those MMS and big oil
orgies.
Good report on ABC tonight. An MIT professor says the booms are an exercise in PR - they won't work. He says BP will be lucky if they contain 1% of the oil.

9. I'm sure they're quite busy working away on their next feeble attempt and
spinning even more effort on the accompanying propaganda. You know, things like this just happen, we are not the blame, we're just the good guys trying to patch things up. It was really X's fault.

10. What a surprise. Seize their assets under the Patriot Act.
They have acted in concert to destroy America. NO TERRORIST HAS EVER DONE AS MUCH HARM.

16. Did anyone think that it would?
The "relief well" might, just possibly might, in 3 months. In the meantime, there'll be a disaster the size of twenty-some Exxon Valdez disasters.

19. Do you have a link for this?
I've scoured ABC, CNN, & NBC & can only find the one AP story that says they expect it to work:

BP Confident Latest Try to Capture Oil Will Work

20. I don't have a link but...
I heard the same report on CBS news at 6:30 EDT. The news anchor said that lowering the mile long pipe didn't work and that BP would try something else soon.

21. Yes, all the stories said it failed the first time due to an alignment problem
...if you read the linked story though, it says that they expect to have it hooked up tonight and are "confident" that it will work
