Can't stand beauty pageants, but I caught the last part of the Miss Trump USA Pageant last night. It was down to the final six and time for the interview portion of the competition...
Miss Oklahoma went first. Oscar Nunez from The Office asks her opinion about the Arizona immigration law, and should it be the responsibility of the states or the federal government to control illegal immigration. She begins her answer: "I'm a huge believer in states' rights. I think that's what's so wonderful about America," continuing with a mealy-mouthed defense of the law. Tacked on "but racial profiling is wrong" at the end and smiled.
Contrast that to Miss Michigan, Rima Fakih, who was asked if birth control should be covered by insurance. She gave a definitive response to the positive.
They ended up being the two finalists, and Michigan got the crown.
Take that, Oklahoma! Did I mention Fakih was Arab-American?
