1. I would not mind a baseball game with adjustments to the rules.

The problem with the metaphorical game, was one team decided they could just make up any score they wanted, and not follow any rules. And then payed off the umpires. So the fans have charged the field and are replacing what could have been moderately successful players that thought they could do what ever they wanted.

How is that for an analogy?

:D

2. Very good!

A suggestion:
Many fans sat in the stands watching while the mayhem took place. They were content to watch whatever form the game took when resumed. The charge for popcorn was doubled.
:hi:

4. Not sure it will be resumed, should not be a game.
Although I did bite with a comment on your comment. So can't blame you for adding that to the analogy.

I also see the same pattern over and over. Blast away for awhile, then go to ground, thinking people will correct things, and they all jump up and say they won. That has happened many times. It seems to fit the idea of trying to get someone to claim they actually do something, or think they do.

It is like, ok now lets see how things go, and instead of making needed adjustments, they pretend like they won. Its not about winning but getting things right. And it is not about making people do things, but understanding what is going on so they are responsible for choices.

And it seems there is progress. But it also seems people want to create delusions out of things.

It is not that complicated, and although some of the lights look that way, it is not that hard to explain.

5. Sadly, I believe the game always resumes.
We just never know the real rules or when the fix is in.

7. That is the whole point. That is very important.
So you have to choose what kind a person you want to be, because many times the fears are empty threats, and the rewards are empty packages if you try to play the game.

And since nobody knows the rules for sure, you have to pick what kind of person you want to be, regardless of the different things that can be like what you mention.

9. I'm a player with a specific skill set.
I have honed the ones I think are important: morality, ethics, empathy, and taking action in the face of very high odds against success.
Sisyphus would be hard pressed to get his rock to the top of the mountain that some try to reach. The absurd grows ever larger.
We press on nevertheless. If enough begin to push the rock and stay to hold it, what would happen?
