2. Many years ago, I ate at a Pappadeaux in Houston while visiting Astroworld
(when it was still around), I had a very good meal, and a great time with my friends. I'm glad they're going after BP since their livelihood depends on the Gulf seafood.

3. Go Pappas Family! Litigate BP into the year 2525!
* Pappas Seafood
* Pappasito's Cantina
* Pappadeaux
* Pappamia's (their Italian chain that is no longer around)

All amongst my Old Reliables when I lived in Houston.

Far better than any of the inferior and ubiquitous Landry's restaurants. I was recently in Monterey on business, and the group went to The Chart House for dinner. After appetizers were served, I started wondering why this very very pricey place with the spectacular view had such notably mediocre food. I picked up one of the table cards listing specials and promos, and my answer was right there: "Landry's Restaurants Inc.".

6. Hopefully it won't take that long to run'em out o'bizness!
"Old Reliables"! :9

I will say THIS about Landry's..
They have been wonder-FULL to Galveston, in Ike's aftermath.
The old Flagship Hotel over the Gulf, still in ruins,like an open wound..
owned by Landry's,will soon be demo'd & rebuilt as a boardwalk/amusement park/restaurants.. Islanders EXCITED about it, & thankful Landry's has been so committed to recovery efforts.

10. good to know
re Landry's. Just wish their food was better.

Last time I was in Galveston, I had dinner at Willie G's, then went to see Mel Torme at the 1894 Opera House. Which should give you a pretty good idea of the last time I was in Galveston...

Oh yeah, and Shearn Moody was a customer of a company I used to work for...

7. Pappas family is a major restaurant family in Houston-Galveston.
They have seafood and Tex Mex, and their places are both huge and packed. I've been to their places more times than I can count. Very noisy, but very festive and energetic.

11. Uhm
This might be a trick.

If the law suits start flying before congress undoes the liability cap on the 1990 Oil Production Act than someone could make a case that any reform on it would be ex post facto regarding increased economic liability.

12. Pappadeaux's is not just in TX: they're good restaurants, too
Up here in ATL we've a couple of Pappadeaux's. They are the closest to the atmosphere and food of Louisiana seafood restaurants. And the prices are/were moderate.

They served Gulf oysters, shrimp, fish, etc. My DH and I rushed to Pappadeaux's a week after the spill to have a 'last supper' of oysters. Gulf oysters are better than those from anywhere else. The managers were distressed, as were all the pther customers who were doing the same as us.

14. Damages are getting a little remote there....
What would you bet that the owners support limiting liability for their own operations?
